Mrs. Earlene Stokesberry, 74, of Coffeyville, died Wednesday evening at St. Johns Medical Center in Joplin, Missouri. She had been in failing health. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Chetopa United Methodist Church with the Reverend Susan Brown, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Chetopa under the direction of the Penwell-Gabel Ford Wulf Bruns Chapel of Coffeyville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family has suggested memorial remembrances to the Chetopa United Methodist Church and remembrances will be received at the funeral home. Georgia Earlene Stokesberry was born October 24, 1934 at Chetopa, Kansas, the daughter of Earl C. Garrett and Mary ElizabethBetty Emert Garrett. She attended Chetopa Schools, graduating from Chetopa High School in 1952, and was Salutatorian of her graduating class. She also attended Coffeyville Community College. She was employed for a time with First Federal Savings and Loan of Coffeyville. Mrs. Stokesberry was employed by Four County Mental Health for over 30 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Coffeyville and attended the First Nazarene Church of Coffeyville. She was also a member of the Daughter39;s of the American Revolution. On October 8, 1955 at Chetopa, Kansas, she was united in marriage to Donnie Ray Stokesberry. Mr. Stokesberry preceded his wife in death on January 4, 2002. Survivors include: a son, David Stokesberry of Coffeyville; five grandchildren, Ashton, Johnathon, Whitley, Isabelle and William; a brother, Earl C. Garrett II of Washington, D.C.; and a sister Audrey Ann Tatum of Palestine, Texas.
