Edward Ellison

Edward Orin Ellison age 66 of rural Tyro passed away on February 11, 2019 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville.

He was born in Coffeyville, KS on December 2, 1952 the son of Keith Orrin and Emma Maude (Denny) Ellison. He grew up in the Caney area graduating from Caney High School. After his schooling, he began working on a pipeline. Later he enrolled in Southeast Kansas Vocational Technical School in Coffeyville, receiving training in the area of automobile mechanic. After his vocational training he began employment with Leavenworth Steel. Later receiving more training through Tri-County of Bartlesville, OK in the art of welding. Mr. Ellison later became employed with Hackney and Sons in Independence until he began employment with Parmac in Coffeyville and then retiring from Farmland Industries in 2006 as a welder in their maintenance unit.

On April 30, 1983 he married Paula Kim McKinney in Independence. The couple made their home in rural Tyro.

Mr. Ellison is a member of the Boilermakers Local 83, of Kansas City, MO, the North American Fishing Club, and an Honorary Member of the Delaware Tribe, receiving his Indian name from the Tribal Elder in 1995. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being in the outdoors, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Paula of the home, sons; Cory Ellison his wife Anna, Zachary Ellison his wife Gail all of Caney, Tyler Ellison his fiancé Kelsey Tronsgard of Tyro, daughter Kyla Angel her husband Bronc of Coffeyville, his father Keith Ellison now of Windsor Place in Coffeyville, grandchildren; Keith, Orin, Emma, Gemma, Aaliyah, Mariah, and Iris.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma

Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 18, 2019 at the Cornerstone Church in Caney at 10:00am. Inurnment will immediately follow in Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville. Friends are invited to sign the register and greet the family on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm also at the Cornerstone Church in Caney. The family suggests memorials be made payable to the family for the education of his grandchildren and they may be sent in care of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
