Elaine Ruth Strimple age 83 of Afton, Oklahoma formerly of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away September 8, 2021 at CRMC in Coffeyville.
Elaine was born April 17, 1938, in Augusta, Kansas. She was adopted by Bob & Alice Mae Bergman. The family made their home in Coffeyville, KS where Elaine attended and graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School.
On January 15, 1960, Elaine married the love of her life, Lyman (Dean) Strimple. Together they raised two children, Robert (Dean) Strimple and Lisa Sue Strimple in Coffeyville, KS. Elaine and Dean were self-employed as the owners of Strimple Sign. Elaine and Dean enjoyed taking trips to Tunica, MS to visit various casinos and spending time at the lake with family and friends. She had a love for fishing while at the lake, but really enjoyed having the fruits of her labor for dinner even more.
Elaine now rests with her parents Bob and Alice Mae Bergman, husband Dean, daughter Lisa and two sisters, Dorothy Lee Carter and Bobbie Ann Bergman.
Surviving to honor her memory is her son, Robert Dean Strimple (Karen) of Coffeyville; grandchildren Michael Strimple (Monique) of Liberty, Kansas; Jamie Stanislaus (Kirby) of Chanute, KS; Jenny Adams (Ben) of Houston, TX; Jeff Strimple (Carrie) of Coffeyville, KS; and; 11 great-grandchildren – Paige, Ethan, Michael Jr, Lucas, Jadyn, Tereselyn, Tristyn, Molly, Hailey, Drake and Jentry.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021, at 10:00 am at Liberty Cemetery in Liberty, KS. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 5 – 7 pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to CRMC Foundation and may be sent in care of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
