Elizabeth Seger

Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Seger, age 80, of the Grand Lake area passed away on September 2, 2016 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO.

Betty was born on February 21, 1936 in Fort Worth, TX to Enick and Rosa (Hyman) Yorek. She attended and graduated from Poly High School, after graduation she moved to Los Angeles, California. There she worked as a waitress as she continued her education at a local junior college. She was working as an office administrator when she met Robert Seger in 1962, the couple dated for a year and married on January 6, 1963. In 1973 The couple left California, traveled the United States and Canada for 9 months and finally landed in Bartlesville, OK. They made their home there for 12 years until moving to Texas. In 1991 they retired to the Grand Lake area where they have made their home.

Betty enjoyed talking to people, she never met a stranger. She made friends everywhere she went. She loved playing bingo, if there was a casino that had bingo she knew exactly where it was. Betty and Bob took several trips to Las Vegas over the years and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.She truly enjoyed casinos but most of all she loved spending time with Bob.

Left to honor her memory are, her husband Bob of the home, many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother JT Yorek, sisters Mary Winburn and Catherine Anderson.

Funeral services will be held on September 10, 2016 at 10:00am at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, interment will follow at Fariview Cemetery. Friends are invited to sign the register on Friday September 9, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm.
