Elizabeth Tickle

Lifetime Dearing resident, Elizabeth (Liz) A. (Lamar) Tickle 82, passed away peacefully, January 19, 2022, at her daughter's home in Tyro, Kansas.


Elizabeth was born outside of Dearing, Kansas on November 19, 1939, to Kenneth Paul Lamar, Sr. and Effie Ellen (Bellamy) Lamar. The 7th of 8 children.
Elizabeth attended Coffeyville Schools, include Vo-Tech, where she received certificates in welding and machine shop classes.


She was employed at Goldie's Pie Shop in Coffeyville when she met Henry. She also worked at Emerson Electric, The Box Factory, and American Craftsman. She retired from American Craftsman in September 2001.


She married Henry Lee Tickle Sr. On February 8, 1969, in Dearing, where they made their home together until his passing in May 1979.
Elizabeth had 7 children, Henry Tickle, Luther Tickle, James Tickle, Jack Tickle and Albertis (Tickle) Bray from Henry's previous marriage, as well as Allen Lee Tickle, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Ellen Marie (Tickle) McDown of Tyro, Kansas.


Elizabeth would often say that she became a wife, mother and grandmother with her "I do."


Elizabeth loved many different arts and crafts and was a veracious reader. However, she loved her family more than anything.


Survivors include, Henry Tickle Jr., James Tickle Sr. and wife Carol, Jack Tickle, all of Coffeyville, as well as Allen Tickle and wife Kathie of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and daughter's Albertis (Tickle) Bray of S. Coffeyville, Oklahoma and Ellen (Tickle) McDown and husband Brian of Tyro. Elizabeth had 23 grandchildren, including Melvin, Elvin and Theresa Tickle, Carol Ann, Christie and Raymond Tickle, John, Donna Roberts, Lisa Mellen, Jimmy Tickle, and Vickie Sutton Tickle, Martha, Mona Duvall, Marion, Austin and Bobbie Anna Tickle, Cindy Coward, Tammy Huff, Aaron and Josh Meisner, Anthony Banzet, Kimberly Banzet, Michaela Buchholz, Brianna McDown and Justin Wertz.  She has many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Henry Tickle Sr., her son Luther Tickle, parents Kenneth and Effie Lamar, her brother Paul, Gerald (Gene) and Carl Ray Lamar, Sisters Mary Grossman, Caroline Brower and Peggy Lamar, as well as her granddaughters, Carol Ann Tickle and Theresa Tickle and Daughters in law Jean Tickle and Nola Tickle.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas at 2:00 pm with Pastor Tom Barton of Caney Church of Christ officiating.  Elizabeth will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Henry in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville.  The family will receive friends at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel on Tuesday, January 25 from 5 to 7pm.  The family has request memorial contributions be made payable to: Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and may be left in care of the chapel.  To share a memory or leave an online condolence visit www.fordwulfbrunschapel.com
