Elsie Coday

Elsie Florence Coday, 93, of Coffeyville, KS, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at CRMC in Coffeyville. She was born on February 1, 1915 in Creek County, OK, the daughter of Walter and Sadie Haggerty Willis. She graduated from Sand Springs High School, Sand Springs, OK. Following graduation, she married Lester Coday on December 22, 1934 in Tulsa, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester and daughter, Carolyn Ivy. Surviving to honor her memory are her children, Anita Chilcott of Huddleston, VA and John Coday of Wichita, KS; three grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel of Coffeyville, KS. Private interment will follow at Penwell-Gabels Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Coffeyville, KS. Friends may pay their respect to Mrs. Coday at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., Sunday and 8 a.m. until 12 noon on Monday prior to the service.
