Obituary Emory Frank Wise Rural Coffeyville resident Emory Frank Wise, age 77 passed away Friday, October 7, 2006 at his home. Emory was born February 3, 1929 in rural Coffeyville to Francis Lee and Emma Ethyl Sands Wise. He attended Snow Hill and Valeda Elementary Schools, both in Labette County. He also attended Judea Elementary in Tyro. He was a graduate of Field Kindley Memorial High School class of 1946. He worked for the Humbolt Cement Co. and the Coop Refinery. In June of 1948, he enlisted in the United States Navy and received his Honorable Discharge on September 20, 1949. In January 1951, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and also attended The University of Omaha while stationed there. He received his Honorable Discharge in December 1955. On September 10, 1950, he married Kathryn Lucille Atkinson. They were married in Coffeyville. The family moved to Omaha upon his enlistment in the Air Force. The family resided there until 1959 when they moved to Coffeyville. Emory worked for Frank Stitzel as an architect. Later he worked for Tri State Electric and Union Gas Co. Mr. Wise became the owner operator of Hartley Sheet Metal from 1968 until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, The Keystone Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Shrine, American Society of Heating and Refrigeration Engineers, The American Legion and the Bears and Bulls Investment Club. Survivors include his loving wife Kathryn Wise of the home, Daughter and son- in-law Vicki and Glenn Storm of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma and son and daughter-in-law Steve and Jamie Wise of Coffeyville.. There are six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Michael Emory Wise, four brothers Orton, Wayne, Leroy and George Wise; a sister Nina Marshall and one great grandchild. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday October 10, 2006 in the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. Dr. Wayne Norton will officiate and burial will follow in the Union Cemetery Northeast of Coffeyville. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Coffeyville and the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. These may be left with the funeral home. Friends may call on Sunday from1 pm until 9 pm and Monday from 9 am until 9 pm at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel to sign the guest register.
