Enoch Arden Miller Enoch Arden Miller departed this earth to live forever with his Savior, Jesus Christ, Tuesday, August 29, 2006, after a valiant fight with cancer. Arden was born November 19, 1936, near Oswego, Kansas to Forrest and Virgie Raymond Miller. He graduated from Labette County Community High School in 1954. He attended Coffeyville Community Junior College and Wichita State University on football scholarships. He was Honorably Discharged from the United States Navy Reserve in 1964. He married Colene Knewtson in 1956 in Edna, Kansas. Arden started work at Funk Manufacturing in 1957. He retired in 1991 as Superintendant of the Heat Treat Department. During this period, he was a member of ASM and served as President of SME. He was an avid sports fan. He coached Little League baseball. He ran the chains for all high school and college home games for several years and was a huge fan of the Coffeyville Red Ravens. He attended Church of the Open Door Coffeyville Bible Church where he served as board member, secretary and treasurer for many years. Arden loved his family and farm and was adored by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of the home near Coffeyville. One son, Kris Miller, of rural Coffeyville; one daughter, Brenda McCray, and her husband, Dick, of Edmond, Ok, and their children Erin, Emily and Austin; two sisters, Betty Wiley and Darlene Harshaw of Oswego, Ks. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Rosella Feldt. Mr. Miller will lie in state Thursday from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m and Friday from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. The family will have a private service. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Deb Hendricks at Bartlesville Cancer Care Associates, Jane Phillips Memorial Hospital. Memorials may be left with the funeral home.
