Ethel P Ross age 86, of Coffeyville, passed away on March 13, 2017 at Windsor Place of Coffeyville.

Ethel was born in Columbus, KS on October 3, 1930 to Roy and Goldie (Ochsenbein) Gatewood. She attended school in Coffeyville and graduated from Field Kindley High School, she then continued her education at Coffeyville Community College. Ethel met and later married LaVern Ross and the couple was blessed with six children, losing a daughter at birth. She worked for the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons. Ethel was a sincere, loving, compassionate, good-hearted lady, always caring for friends and family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Gary Ross, Don Ross, and Lonnie Ross, brother; Clyde Gatewood, his wife Lorene, sister; Joyce Ford, her husband David, 9 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; LaVern, son; Terry Ross, daughters, Cindy and Linda Ross, brother; Maynard Gatewood, sisters; Francis, Ina, and Myrl.

Honoring Ethel's wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, and a memorial service will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 2:00pm at the Veteran's Memorial Patio at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Diane Massey of the First Presbyterian Church officiating.
