Altamont resident Ethel Mae Peyton Thompson entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 22, 2007. She was 69. Ethel was born October 13, 1938 to Franklin Oscar and Margaret Ellen Hopkins Peyton. She graduated from FieldKindleyMemorialHigh School in 1956. She married Jackie Lee Thompson on May 21, 1965. They made their home in Coffeyville. Ethel worked for Medical Lodge Nursing Home for 25 years until her retirement in 1997. She enjoyed spending time with family and grandchildren. Before her illness she was a member of the Tyro Christian Church. She is survived by her husband Jackie of the home; daughters, Pam Frye and husband, Terry of Tyro, KS and Becky Ingram of Cherryvale, KS; sons, Jackie Lee Jr. and wife, Holli of Altamont, KS and Brian Thompson and wife, Jay Ann of Altamont, KS; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Abbott of Bartlesville, OK, Kathy Berryman of Coffeyville, KS, Lois Whipple of Grandview, MO and Corrine Byrd of Coffeyville; brothers, Savory Peyton of Coffeyville, KS, Willie Peyton and Dale Peyton both of Missouri. She was preceded in by her parents; sons, Ricky Alanzo Thompson of Liberty, KS and Monty Shane Thompson an infant son; brother, Darrel Peyton; sister, Josephine Hayden. Services will be held at 2 p.m.Thursday, October 25, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Ford Wulf-Bruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Evangelist David Bycroft will officiate. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home to sign the guest register.
