Eva Rebecca Rush was called home to be with her Lord on Monday, March 8, 2010. She was 92. Eva was born September 1, 1917 in Colony, Kansas to John and Mabel Bass Heinlein. She grew up in Colony, Kansas and received her high school diploma in Humboldt, Kansas. She went on to attend Beauty School at Pittsburgh, KS. She later met and married the love of her life, Elmer L. Rush on June 27, 1948 in Chanute, Kansas. Elmer preceded her in death in July of 2006. The couple made their home in Coffeyville. Eva was a home maker, she was an active member in the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville. She was a past PTA President and PTA Council President. She was also active in the Life Home Demonstration Unit. Surviving to honor her memory are her daughters, Mabel Irene Clark and husband, Michael , Anita Rae Grove and husband, Earl all of Coffeyville, KS grandchildren, Douglas Clark and Melinda Hill of Olatha, KS, Bradley Clark of Coffeyville, KS, Christopher E. Grove Esq. and Abbey of Columbus, OH greatgrandchildren Logan Bradley Clark and Cody Thomas Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Elmer. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville, Dr. Wayne Norton will officiate. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Neosho County Cemetery in Chanute, KS. Friends may call on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. to sign the guest register. Family will be receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville. These may be left with the funeral home.
