Evi A. Long age 94, passed away on September 10, 2016 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Evi was born on October 26, 1921 to Charles and Grace (Williams) Long in Norwood, Missouri. Moving to Coffeyville as a small child, he attended schools in Coffeyville graduating from Field Kindley High School in 1939. He married Edna Lucille Hilderbrand in Nowata, Oklahoma on April 22, 1941 of that union two children were born. In September of 1942 he was drafted into the US Army serving in the WWII until February of 1946 when he received an Honorable Discharge. He returned to his family in Coffeyville and starting work at Coop Refinery later currently known as Coffeyville Resources and Refining. Evi was a member of the Coffeyville First Nazarene Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, camping and had a true passion for traveling. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Evi is survived by his son, Evi A. Long, Jr. and his wife Linda of Dearing, Kansas; daughter, Vivian West of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma; brother, Merle Long of Shawnee, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Robert Tedstrom, Stacy Hayden, Danny Noland, George Noland and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Edna, parents, brothers, Lowell Long, Charles Long Jr., Noel Long; sisters, Beula Trotter, Betty Scary, Gladys Long and granddaughter, Jamie West.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel with Pastor Ford Hall of Coffeyville First Nazarene Church officiating. Committal services will be held at Fairview Cemetery of Coffeyville following the service.
