Floyd Arthur Robinett of Coffeyville passed away Monday, April 12, 2010 at his home. He was 86. Floyd was born July 3, 1923 in Coffeyville to Samuel M. and Lena L. Lyons Robinett. He grew up in the Coffeyville area, where he attended school. Floyd joined the U.S. Army, serving in WWII as a member of the 738th Tank Battalion. On December 1, 1946 he was united in marriage to JoAnne Shumaker at Coffeyville, KS. She preceded him in death April 27, 1994. The couple made their home in Coffeyville where Floyd worked for Montgomery County in road maintenance until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed working on his 40 acres and gardening, raising vegetables of all kinds. Surviving to honor his memory are his children, Ron Robinett and his wife, Zandra of Parsons, KS, Sharon Westervelt and her husband, Steve of Coffeyville, and Charlotte Riley and husband, Frank, Jr. of Coffeyville, KS five grandchildren, Sandy Westervelt of Coffeyville, Shawn Westervelt and his wife, Holly of Andover, KS, Travis Robinett of Parsons, KS, Brian Robinett of Cherryvale, KS and Kevin Riley and his wife, Cooky of Coffeyville, KS and six greatgrandchildren. In addition to his wife, JoAnne, he was also preceded by his parents, and four sisters and three brothers. Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 11 a.m., in Coffeyvilles Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Service and interment are under the direction of PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel. Friends may sign the register book until 8 p.m., Wednesday. Family suggests donations to Grace Fellowship Church and donations may be left at the funeral home.
