Floyd Buster Timmerman, 92, of Cherryvale, Kansas died Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Veterans Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was born April 25, 1918 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Richard Aquila and Ethel Mae Timmerman. Floyd was the oldest of 11 children. In 1927 the family moved from Oklahoma to Coffeyville, Kansas. In March 1942 Floyd was inducted into the US Army for service during WWII. Disabled from his military service he returned to Coffeyville and lived with his mother until 1984. He then lived with his brother Jarold and then his sister Velma. He never married nor had children of his own. He enjoyed trains, airplanes, being outdoors and reading letters from family. Most of all Floyd just enjoyed visiting and being around family. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothersChester, Harold, Jarold and Clyde Timmerman and five sisters Jewel and Betty Timmerman, Evelyn DeBoard, Violet Van Cleave and Velma Workman. Survivors include a sister Freda Hickman of Scranton, Pennsylvania and several generations of nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Floyd Buster Timmerman will be held on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 1:00PM at PenwellGabel Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Interment will follow with military honors at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. Mr. Timmerman will lie in state at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00PM until 8:00PM. The family will receive guests at the funeral home fron 6:00PM until 8:00PM.
