Frances Long

Frances R. Long age 93 passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas.

Rollie and Ombre (Adams) Blome welcomed Frances, their only child on September 2, 1927 in Nevada, Missouri.

France moved with her parents to Coffeyville as a young girl.  Frances caught the eye of a handsome young man and on July 7, 1946 she married the love of her life, Myron Long.  Together they made their home in Coffeyville raising their five children. Myron preceded her in death on May 28, 2005.

Frances and Myron owned and operated the Russell Motel for 13 years. Together they drove the church bus for years picking up children for church. After retirement they sold their home and became full time campers traveling across the United States. Frances cherished her family gathering for Sunday dinners in her tiny kitchen where she prepared a meal with love.  She enjoyed cooking, singing, laughing, playing games, gardening, particularly flower gardening, the purple iris was her favorite flower and being a grandma brought her great joy. She could rock and love her grandkids all day.

Frances always had a smile on her face welcoming all that she met.  Frances had resided at Windsor place since 2013 and by far the best part of being there for her was the Age to Age Kindergarten.  She loved children and they loved her. You could always find Frances participating in any activity offered for residents, she made the most of everyday.
