Frances Becky McCormick, 86, of Edna, Kansas passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at her home surrounded by loved ones.
Becky was born January 12, 1927 in rural Edna, Kansas to William H. and Mabel Bennett Triebel. Becky was one of seventeen children. She grew up around Edna and received her High School Diploma. In 1945 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Stonewall McCormick in Coffeyville, Kansas. Mr. McCormick served in the military so the couple lived many places. After his time in the military he was an electrician so they continued to travel all over, living in many places. Becky worked several different jobs, one of the things she enjoyed was being a Hairdresser. The couple spent the most time in Gary, Indiana where she worked for Venture Store as a Sales Associate. Mr. McCormick preceded her in death in 1989.
After her retirement in 1996, Becky moved back to Edna, Kansas. She was a member of the Word of Truth Fellowship. She enjoyed reading her Bible, gardening and watching old movies. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving to honor her memory are her sons, Millard Johnston and wife, Nancy of Roseville, Minnesota, Richard McCormick and Tammy of Portage, Indiana, Bennett McCormick and wife, Heather of Highland, Indiana brother, Denny Triebel and wife, Karin of Edna, Kansas sisters, Coleen Harris, Mary Burris, Susie Gordon, Roberta Balthrope, Catherine Roldan, Ruth Wynn, Esther Bracken, Nancy Johnson, Donna Bracken seven grandchildren and eleven greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Stonewall McCormick parents, William and Mabel Triebel brothers, Paul, James and Charles Triebel sisters, Virginia King, Martha DeWit and Wanda Hawthorne.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Edna, Kansas. Pastor Given Blakely will officiate. Due to weather conditions a private burial will take place at the North Edna Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday, December 6, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Kanas to sign the guest register. Family will greet friends on Friday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to them these may also be left with the funeral home.
