Coffeyville resident Frances H. Newman entered into eternal rest on Monday November 5, 2007 in Coffeyville. She was 99. She was born September 8, 1908 in Alluwe, Oklahoma to Bud and Margaret Boone Clark. She grew up and attended school in Alluwe, Oklahoma. On November 25, 1925 she married Ernest Newman in Nowata, Oklahoma. They made their home in Coffeyville. They lived in the Coffeyville area all of their married lives. She is survived by daughters, Shirley Medford of Coffeyville, Dixie Conklin of Grenola, Kansas and Virginia Newman of the home; two brothers and one sister; grandchildren, Alan Conklin of Arkansas City, Robert Conklin of Grenola, Karen Stong of Elk City, Debora Phillips of Winfielld, Sharon Neely of Coffeyville, Cathy Corky Medford of Tulsa, James Neely of Coffeyville, Linda Wilson of Helena, Montana and Andy Scooter Medford of Houston, Texas; seven great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren; her beloved dog, Maggie; good friends, Ron and Gerry George; and numerious nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Newman in 1986, three sons, a brother and two sisters. Graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, November 8, 2007 in Penwell-Gabels Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend James Crandall of the Assembly of God Church in Coffeyville will officiate. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9 am until 9 pm at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home to sign the guest register. The family will greet friends on Wednesday evening from 6 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Grenola, Kansas Public Library. These may be left with the funeral home.
