Fred Abram

Fred Jay Abram, 82 of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away at Medicalodges in Coffeyville on Friday, May 20, 2022.

Fred was born on March 8th, 1940 in Chetopa KS to Mary Francis and Wallace Abram. He lived his entire life in Coffeyville KS and attended Coffeyville schools. He never sought a career and spent most of his time at the Coffeyville and South Coffeyville stockyards, buying, selling and hauling cattle working alongside his dad. He never married or had children but loved his nieces and nephew. Fred was a big story teller, slow to get started talking but once he did you were in for many, many stories. Some refer to that as a BS’er but he just had lots to say. He enjoyed reading western books and watching rodeos on TV.

He is survived by one sister, Becky Vogt of Overland Park, KS, 2 nieces, Bonnie Maitlen and Brandy Soares also of Overland Park KS, 2 nieces, 1 great niece and 2 great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Georgia Applebaugh.

Cremation has taken place per his request under the direction of Ford Wulf Bruns Chapel. No services are planned at this time.
