Fred Lewis

Obituary Fred C. Lewis Coffeyville resident Fred Lewis died early Tuesday morning, June 20, 2006 in Coffeyville. He was 76. Fred was born September 19, 1929 in Parsons, Kansas to Claude Willis and Mamie Etta Bailey Lewis. He grew up and attended school in Parsons thru 12th grade. He enlisted in the United States Army serving during WWII in Korea. He was Honorably Discharged in 1957. On October 15, 1969 he married Elizabeth Colbert in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Coffeyville, Kansas Fred worked at Coffeyville Recon until he retired around 1990. Fred loved to fish and he loved to teach the children how to clean the fish. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Lewis of the home, one step-son Wilbert Eugene Colbert of Coffeyville. There are eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2006 in the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel.
