Fred Schille

Freddrick Charles Schille, 53, of Coffeyville, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at his home. Fred was also known as Derf by friends. He was born on February 14, 1958 in Champaign, Illinois to Al and Rogene Schille. The family lived in New Jersey until 1966 when they moved to Coffeyville where they made their home. Fred graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1976. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army National Guard serving his country until March 1981. He obtained the rank of PFC and was attached to the 64 Charlie Transportation Unit. After his time in the military he worked various occupations. His most recent employment was with Spears Manufacturing until he was forced to retire in January of this year. Fred was a lifetime member of the St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Coffeyville. He loved to fish and tend to his vegetable garden. He also made knives as a hobby. Fred loved spending time with his friends and family. He was a practical joker, had the most contagious smile and loved to laugh. He will be missed by many. Surviving to honor his memory is his mother, Rogene of the home children, Joshua Unruh of Emporia, KS, Tabitha Anderson of Bella Vista, AR, Michael Eck and wife, Jenny of Elk Point, S.D. siblings, Tammie Frye and husband, Marty of Wann, OK, Roxie Schille Holeman and fiance Brent Blagg of Coffeyville, KS, Ed Schille and wife, Gina of Coffeyville, KS grandchildren, Gavin, Ashton, Dakoda Anderson all of Wichita, KS, Isabella Eck of Elk Point, S.D. numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Al and paternal grandparents, Sam and Alberta Schille, maternal grandparents, Marion and Ruth Leader. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pauls Episcopal in Coffeyville, KS. Father Jerry Adinolfi will officiate assisted by Mother Antionette Tackkett. Burial will follow at the Veterans Patio at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. Friends may call on Friday, March 4, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel to sign the guest register. Family will greet friends Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Coffeyville, these may be left with the funeral home.
