Fred D. Wright, December 18th 1944- April 18th 2021 died in his home of natural causes.
He was born in Coffeyville, KS and raised by Harold and Norma Eveleigh. His father died on the beaches in the war. He had two brothers, Ed (Cathy) and David (JoEtta). His parents and David preceded him in death. Fred went to school in Coffeyville and Labette County. Younger in life he had his first job in his grandpa’s mechanic shop. He then worked for Page Milk, HHH Frame, and Funk Manufacturing. He moved to Wyoming and married Barbara and they had a child Ricky D. Barbara preceded him in death. He moved back to Coffeyville KS and met Darlene Countryman. They were married and later divorced. During the marriage he adopted Darlene’s daughter Connie (Mark). Darlene and Fred had a daughter Samantha (Richard). During their marriage they moved to Copeland KS. He worked his adult life at Johnson Irrigation Engine, repairing engines. While working there he enjoyed riding motorcycles, mostly Harleys. Upon his retirement he moved to Edna, KS, where he spent his time at auctions, and drinking coffee with old guys at the Woodshed.
He is survived by his children, their spouses, their children and brother Ed.
He was preceded in death by his brother, parents and other family.
Friends are invited to support the family at the visitation on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Ford-Wulf Bruns Chapel. The family suggests memorial contributions to be made payable to any of the Edna civic groups, BEARS, ECO, and Crosstimbers Food Bank and they may be sent in care of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
