Coffeyville resident, Frenia Katherine Cerny, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at her home in Coffeyville, Kansas. She was 94. Frenia was born February 5, 1917 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Riley and Nora Bowman Fitzpatrick. She graduated high school from Field Kindley Memorial High School in Coffeyville. She married Clifford L. Cerny on August 8, 1936 in Missouri. They made their home in Coffeyville. Frenia loved tending to her family, enjoyed having a garden, and spending holidays with her family. She enjoyed going on cruises, attending the horse races, playing bridge every week. Frenia volunteered in Cub Scout meetings and activities. She was a member of Beta Sigma PhiPreceptor Delta Chapter, the Anthem Book Club, and a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church in Coffeyville. Frenia spent a lot of time with her family at gatherings. She and her husband enjoyed dancing and won several contests. She is survived by her son, Ronald Cerny daughters, Joan Mills and husband, Larry Kathy Williams and husband, Rex Jackie Waddell and husband, Danny, all of Coffeyville grandchildren, Terri Stoops of Dickinson, TX Kristi Hill of Dickinson, TX Rhonda Pauls of Springdale, AR Stacey Baker of St. Joseph, MO Stephanie Adame of Bartlesville, OK Bronwen Cerny of Topeka, KS Amanda Shelton of Linden, KS Brad Williams of Atlanta, GA Ryan Williams of Ft. Worth, TX Kayla Williams of Coffeyville, KS Lori Bryan of Overland Park, KS Lisa Waddell of Tulsa, OK Amy Salter of Overland Park, KS 22 greatgrandchildren and one greatgrandchild on the way 1 greatgreatgrandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Riley and Nora loving husband, CliffordCern and brothers, Ross and Hess Fitzpatrick. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 19, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church. Reverend John Collins will officiate and burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Funeral Home to sign the guest register. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 46 p.m. Memorials may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or First United Methodist Church. These may be left with the funeral home.
