Edwina Thompson Hills, 95, formerly of Coffeyville, died July 19, 2009, in Denver, Colorado. She was born March 16, 1914, in Nowata County, Oklahoma, to David Lihugh and Almeda Carroll Thompson. On December 8, 1933, she married Vernie L. Hills in Coffeyville. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1991. Mrs. Hills was a homemaker and a member of First Church of God in Coffeyville. Survivors include: three sons, Max and wife, Diana, of Arvada, Colorado, Don and wife, Diane, of Morrison, Colorado, and Ron and Kay Hills of Havana, Kansas; a daughter, Shirley Hills Wicheal of Elbert, Colorado; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; sons, Kenny, Richard and Marvin; one granddaughter; four sisters and four brothers.
