Gary Earl Johnson 1943 2007 Gary Earl Johson, age 63, longtime Dearing, Kansas resident entered into rest on January 4, 2007 at the Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. Gary was born August 7, 1943 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Charles and Hester Cain Johnson. He attended Coffeyville Schools and Wayside High School where he graduated in 1963. He joined the United States Air Force September of 1963. He was a Viet Nam Veteran. He was honorably discharged 1967. He returned to the Dearing community after his time in the service. He also lived in Erie, Coffeyville, Kansas and Nebraska. He was employed with Haymakers Furniture of Coffeyville for 35 years. Gary also worked with Rodney Lay, Sr. and Blazers. He was also a photographer. On September 9, 2006 he married Elizabeth White in the Dearing Christian Church. She survives of the home in Dearing. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Dearing Christian Church. He was also a member of the Kansas Old Time Fiddlers Pickers and Singers of Mound Valley, Kansas. Gary was a avid Guitar player. Survivors include: His wife Elizabeth Johnson of Dearing, Kansas amp; one brother, Kevin Johnson and wife Rita of Dessert Springs, California; Three step-children, Jim and Jason White of Coffeyville; Jacque Scott of Coffeyville. Several Step-grandchildren; Two step-greatgrandchildren. One niece, Tressa amp; Alex Rodriquez, Ft. Smith, Ark. He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Eldon and Randall Johnson. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 8, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas. Family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 at the Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at the Dearing Christian Church with the Pastor Weldon Foster of the Alluwe Baptist Church amp; Jamie Regis of Dearing Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Coffeyville. Family has suggested memorial contribution to the restoration of the Midland Theatre project.
