Geneva Marie (Hager) Myer age 85, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024 at Medicalodge on Midland where she had resided for several years.
Geneva was born in St. Louis, Missouri on August 17, 1939 to Alberta (Humphrey) and Tony Palmitiere. Geneva attended school in the St. Louis area until life circumstances lead her family to California to look for a more prosperous life, where she also completed her education.
Geneva was a beautiful young woman who perused a dancing career prior to setting in to working as a cook and eventually working up to manager in serval different restaurants.
It was on August 18, 1979 in Reno, Nevada that she married the love of her life John Patrick Myer. The couple made their home in California before moving to Coffeyville, Kansas in 1997 to be close to grandchildren.
After John passed away and her health began to fail, she moved into Windsor Place. Geneva quickly became involved in the Age-to-Age Kindergarten program at Windsor and now Medicalodges as she loved children and found great joy interacting with them. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, playing Bingo, playing cards, and being pampered. Geneva never left the house or her room later at the nursing home without having her nose powdered and her lipstick on, it was important to her to look her best.
Geneva will be greatly missed by her granddaughter Angie Milos who looked after her, son John Milos II, daughter Carol Palmitiere, grandchildren Leilani Milos, John Milos III, Bobbie Milos, Antonio Yamashita, Kona Yamashita, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, children Michael Milos, Diana Milos, brother Lyle Hager, sister, Donna, stepsisters Donna Perry and Rosemary.
Friends my call to pay their respects on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 10 am to 2pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, KS prior to a private burial at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband John.
