Gennie Ray Mims age 75 of Coffeyville departed this life on May 19, 2019 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
Ray was born on June 23, 1943 in Spring Hill, Louisiana to Gennie and Bertha Mims. Ray attended the Webster Parish School System and graduated from Brown High School. He relocated to Kansas City, Missouri in 1967 and then made Coffeyville, Kansas his home in 1989. Ray drove Big Rig Trucks for 52 years, which was his life's passion.
Ray's memories will live on with his wife of 35 years Susie, children, Jacquelin Smith and Michael Mims both of Chicago, his brother Freeman Mims of Texas, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
He now rests with his parents and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 2:00pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel with burial immediately following at Fairview Cemetery. Friends are invited to sign the register and greet the family on Sunday, May 26, 2019 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Chapel. The family suggests memorials be made payable to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and they may be sent in care of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
