George Crowe, Jr.

Caney, Kansas lifelong resident, George F. Crowe, Jr., 73, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2008. George was born on August 6, 1934 in Caney, the son of George F. and Eula May Shaw Crowe, Sr. He retired from the City of Caney after many years of service. Surviving to honor his memory are his children, Kay, Janet, Ralph, Bill, Marty, and Charlotte; step-daughters, Donna, Sandra, and Debbie; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry, and several nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents; three wives, Jackie, Joan, and Marge; two sons, Butch and George; and three granddaughters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2008 at First Southern Baptist Church of Caney, Kansas with Pastor Josh Eaton, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery of Caney. Viewing hours will be 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel of Coffeyville. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home.
