George Jack I. Henisey, age 89 of Coffeyville, Kansas died Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Ron Garrison officiating under the direction of the FordWulfBruns Chapel.
Visitation hours will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2013 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the FordWulfBruns Chapel.
George was born July 26, 1923 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Floyd and Emma Henisey. He grew up and attended schools in Dearing, Kansas.
On March 17, 1943 George entered the United States Army and served during World War II until his honorable discharge on January 21, 1946.
George married Evelyn Taylor on June 6, 1943 in Durham, North Carolina. George worked at Nutrenia Mill and for Funks Manufacturing retiring from Funks in 1986. George was known as Jack to his friends. He had Jacks Appliance Repair that he operated out of his home for a number of years. He was a member of the Jayhawker Sams Camping Club and past member of the Coffeyville VFW.
Survivors include his wife Evelyn of the home one son Larry Henisey of Bartlesville, Oklahoma one daughter Cheryl Henisey of Coffeyville, Kansas Grandchildren Shaun Henisey, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Mark Henisey of Seattle, Washington, and Melinda Henisey of Pennsylvania. Great Granddaughter, Alice Henisey of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. George was preceded in death by his parents.
