Gerald Dean Shamblin formerly of Coffeyville passed away Thursday, July 29, 2010 in Chelsea, OK. Gerald was born September 28, 1932 in Neosho, Missouri to Willis J. and Mildred N. Lamar Shamblin. He grew up and went to school in Coffeyville. He was united in marriage to Nancy Blackburn she preceded him in death on November 4, 1998. The couple lived in Copan for 8 of those years. Gerald served in the US Air Force. He was a member of the Church of God. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially coyote hunting. He also raised game chickens. In 2004 he was united in marriage to Wanda Coy Mangrum in Miami, Okalhoma. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his son, Jerry Shamblin of Liberty daughters, Miah Shamblin of South Dakota, Doris Testerman of Cherryvale, Carol Jean Hood of Coffeyville brothers, Jack and Jim Shamblin both of Wann, OK and numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents son, George A. Shamblin and sister, Zora Frances Reese. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel. Reverend John Lockaby will officiate. Interment will follow at Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville. Friends may call on Monday, August 2, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. to sign the guest register.
