Geraldine Marie Cantrell, age 90, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on October 2, 2021.

Geraldine Marie (Davis) Cantrell was born on April 4, 1931, in Wellington, KS to Rector Herman Davis and Martha Florence Davis. She was raised in Wellington and graduated from Wellington High School, class of 1949 and also attended Phillips University in Enid, Ok.

Geraldine married George C. Cantrell on January 27, 1952, at the First Christian Church in Wellington, Ks. Together they celebrated 69 years of marriage. They moved to Coffeyville from Wellington in 1968 and were co-owners of Davis Paint Store and later Cantrell’s Jewelry.

She loved spending time with her family and friends.  She enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, and making her famous homemade strawberry jam for friends and family. Through the years Geraldine was a dedicated member of the First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Donald Davis, and an infant sister Wanda Davis.

Survivors include her loving husband, George Cantrell of the home; four sons, Michael Cantrell of Tulsa, Ok, Drew Cantrell of Coffeyville, Ks, James Cantrell and his wife Sonya of Coffeyville, Ks, Ted Cantrell and his wife Heather of Tacoma, Wa; one sister, Shirley Hulse of Ames, IA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren whom she adored: John Cantrell and wife Heather, Joe Cantrell and wife Alissa, Charles Cantrell, Marcia Cantrell, David Cantrell and fiancé Julia Erario, Dustin Cantrell and wife Alicia, Steven Cantrell, Anthony Cantrell and Cassandra Cantrell and companion Wesley, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., in Coffeyville, Ks on Thursday, October 7th at 11 am.  Interment will follow at Robbins Cemetery just west of Coffeyville, Ks.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on October 6th from Noon to 5 pm. The family will be present from 5 pm to 7 pm to greet friends.  Memorial contributions have been requested to be made payable to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Harry Hynes Hospice in lieu of flowers.
