Gladys May Rench 1913 2007 The sweet spirit of Gladys May Rench, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at the age of 93. She was born to Herman and Katie Gorton Carpenter May 2, 1913 in Alturas, California. At the age of six she and her family moved to the Wann-Noxie area in Oklahoma. She attended the Oakdale School and Wann High School. On June 3, 1929 she married Stephen Rench in Nowata, OK. They lived on an oil lease near Wann for the next 16 years. In 1945 they made their home in Coffeyville. After 69 years of marriage Stephen preceded her in death on September 3, 1998. She was a homemaker, loving mother and wife, devoting her life to caring for her family. She enjoyed preparing Sunday and holiday dinners for her family. She also liked to sew and embroidery. Later in life she and her husband enjoyed traveling and camping. They traveled through out the United States and Canada. She loved to spend time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren and reading her Bible. Survivors include; two sons, Stephen Rench Penny of Denver, CO and Robert Rench of Coffeyville, KS; seven daughters, Waunita Rench of Rochester, MN, Louise Davis Harry of Coffeyville, KS, Virginia Keller Ralph of Gower, MO, Dorothy Tachikawa Tachi of Hawaii, Carol Hurst Richard of Houston, TX, Gloria Harper Thomas of Bartlesville, OK and Lois Weimer Robert of Angola, KS. 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one great grandson and one great granddaughter, four brothers and two sisters. Visitationcalling hours: Mrs. Rench will lie in state on Friday, April 27, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, Coffeyville, KS. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2007 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, with Rev. Wayne Norton of the First Baptist Church officiating.
