Gloria J Livingston, 68, of Chanute, Kansas passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita, Kansas. Gloria was born February 1, 1944 in Cleburne Texas to William Howard and Vera Oleta Carter Howard. She graduated in 1963 from Cleburne High School. She went on to attend Beauty College in Ft. Worth, Texas where she met and married the man of her dreams. Gloria married Jamie Jim Livingston on January 18, 1965 in Ft Worth where he was stationed with the Air Force. The couple moved to South Coffeyville, Oklahoma in 1970 where they owned and operated the L L Trailer Park until the military moved them to Houston Texas in 1987. She was a homemaker and made a home wherever the military sent them. She also worked various jobs to help pass the time. They moved back to South Coffeyville in 1996 when Jim became sick. He preceded her in death in 1997. She lived with her daughters until illness forced her into a nursing home. She lived in Joplin until the tornado struck in May of 2010 and then she moved to Chanute, Kansas until the time of her death. Gloria was a member of the South Coffeyville Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters Lisa Joe Compston of South Coffeyville and Laura Gregg Cox of Joplin, Mo sister, Patricia McDearmon of Slaton Texas brothers, James Howard of Houston Texas and Kenneth Howard of Cleburne Texas and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jimparents, William and Vera and her brother, Paul. Funeral services will be held on Friday April 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Kansas with a private burial at a later date. Friends may call on Thursday, April 19. 2012 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home to sign the guest register. Family will received friends Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or the American Diabetes Association these may be left with the funeral home.
