Grace C. Latinis 93, long-time Coffeyville resident, died peacefully at her daughters home in West Carrollton, Ohio, on Saturday, March 19 2005. A funeral mass celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Holy Name Catholic Church, Coffeyville. Visitation with family will be held before church services at 9:15 am. Interment of ashes will occur at Sunnyside Cemetery, Caney, Kansas, immediately following mass. Grace was born November 3, 1911 in Andover, New York to Edgar W. and Margaret Grace McGrath Carpenter. She was reared by her grandparents, John and Honora Annie McGrath, and her uncle and aunt, Francis and Helena McGrath Flanagan near Nowata, Oklahoma. She attended high school in Nowata before graduating from Our Lady of Lourdes Academy in Paola, Kansas and the Bartlesville, Oklahoma Business College. She married Gustave Latinis May 28, 1936. He preceded her in death in 1995. Mrs. Latinis was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, the Holy Name Altar Society, and Twenturian Club. She had been a Girl Scout leader and a Red Cross volunteer. A retired manager of the Holy Name Credit Union, she had worked earlier for the Sears audit department. She is survived by: two daughters: Patricia Smith and husband Larry, West Carrollton, Ohio and Margaret Hays and husband Walter, Osawatomie, Kansas; a son-in-law, Glen Hall, Pensacola, Florida; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Two sisters: Rita Cooper, Independence, Kansas and Gertrude Schmidt, Lisbon, Ohio also survive. Grace was preceded in death by her spouse; one daughter, Mary Adele Hall; one grandson, David Hall; and two sisters, Elizabeth Pedrick and Dorothy Martinetti. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Name Catholic Church, Coffeyville. Arrangements are in care of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, Coffeyville, Kansas.
