Harold David Eveleigh age 68 of Coffeyville, passed away the evening of September 26, 2019 in Tulsa, OK surrounded by his loving family.
David was born on June 5, 1951 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center to Harold Albert and Norma Jean (Westervelt) Eveleigh. He attended local grammar schools and graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1969. That same year he joined the United States Navy where he proudly served for 5 years until he received his honorable discharge and returned home to Coffeyville in December of 1973. On February 9, 1979 he married his sweetheart Jo Etta Gooding who he just celebrated 40 years of marriage with. David had worked for various employers over the years, Funks, Jencast, Aptus, and retired from the Coffeyville Country Club. David enjoyed being outdoors golfing, fishing, and mowing. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was the best story teller and he had never met a stranger.
David’s memories will live on with his wife, Jo Etta of the home, son David Eveleigh II and wife Tina of Coffeyville, daughter Darci Berry and husband Ryan of South Coffeyville, OK, brothers, Fred D Wright of Edna and Edward E. Eveleigh and wife Cathy of South Coffeyville, OK, grandchildren; Briana Eveleigh, Maverick Wilson, Ashton, Ryder, and Marshall Berry.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 1:00pm at the Veteran’s Memorial Patio with military honors provided by the United States Navy, VFW Post 1022 and the American Legion Post 20. Friends are invited to sign the register and greet the family on Monday, September 30, 2019 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The family suggests memorials be made payable to the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center Foundation and they may be sent in care of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave Coffeyville, KS 67337.
