Harold Eugene Mason of Tyro, Kansas died Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at his home. Mr. Mason was born April 12, 1933 at Coffeyville, Kansas, the son of Raymond Ray Mason and Nellie Gladys Shrum Mason. He attended Coffeyville schools for a time before moving his family to Pryor, Oklahoma where he finished his schooling. He joined the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and served until his discharge on November 6, 1954. He worked at Funk Manufacturing and Wades Service Station for a time before retiring in 1974. He was a member of the Church of God in Independence. On November 21, 1951 in Coffeyville, Kansas he was united in marriage to Donnie Lee Bradshaw. Mrs. Mason survives at the home. Additional survivors include: two sons, Larry Mason of Coffeyville and Mark Mason of Tyro, Kansas; a daughter Rebbeca Elder of Coffeyville; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and a brother, Jimmy Wagner of Pryor, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Leonard and 5 brothers. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Penwell-Gabel Ford Wulf Bruns Chapel of Coffeyville. The family will conduct memorial services 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Church of God in Independence with Pastor William Davis, officiating. The family has suggested memorial remembrances to the Coffeyville Area Community Foundation for Friends of Animals. Remembrances will be received at the funeral home.
