Harold EugeneGene Testerman, 84, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 at CRMC. Gene was born on January 26, 1927 in Craig County, Oklahoma to Arno and BarbaraMarie Trissell Testerman. He grew up in the Craig County area as well as Bartlett, Kansas. After receiving his high school education, Gene served in the United States Navy during World War II. On May 27, 1949 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Carmeta Lou Stokesberry in Independence, Kansas. Shortly following their marriage, the couple made their home in Coffeyville where Mrs. Testerman was a homemaker and Gene worked at Parkerburg Rig and Reel, Wheatly Valve and for over twenty years, operated Testerman Welding. Gene was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1022 and the local American Legion. His favorite hobby was hunting. He also enjoyed time with his family and friends. Surviving to honor his memory is his son, Darrell Testerman and wife, Dayna of Arlington, Texas brother, Arno Testerman and wife, Martha of Bartlett, Kansas four grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arno and BarbaraMarie loving wife, Carmeta daughter, Patty Lou Testerman and brothers, Arthur and NormanDuane Testerman. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at PenwellGabels FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville. Chaplain Mike Graham will officiate. Burial will follow at Lake Creek Cemetery near Bartlett, Kansas. Military honors will be presented by VFW Post 1022 and the Coffeyville American Legion. Friends may call on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home to sign the guest register. Family will greet friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society these may be left with the funeral home.
