Lifelong Coffeyville resident, Harriett Evelyn Freidline, 81, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2008 at CRMC. Harriett was born on June 23, 1926 in Coffeyville, KS, the daughter of Virn and Mary Timmerman Cain. She attended rural grade schools and worked for the Deluxe Cleaners from 1945 until 1955 when she started work for Electra Manufacturing Co. which later changed to Automotive Controls Corp. A.C.C. retiring in June of 1989. She married James W. Newman in January of 1950. He preceded her in death in July of 1960. She later married Keith Freidline on July 12, 1968 in Bartlesville, OK. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2005. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Coffeyville. She enjoyed bird watching, listening to music, and loved to spend time on their homestead enjoying the environment. Survivors include her sister, Hermenia Woodrum of Salem, OR; brothers, Harold Cain of Dearing, KS, Harland Cain, Howard Cain of Coffeyville, KS, and Harvey Cain of Portland, OR, and many nieces and nephews. Also preceding her in death were her parents; sisters Hazel Purcell, Hester Johnson, Hilda Hriberneck, Helen Stewart, Henryetta Eloise Cain and Mary Jane Cain;brothers, Hubert Cain and Herman Cain. Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Penwell-Gabels Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24th at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. that evening. Memorial contributions may be given to the Windsor Place Alzheimer Unit.
