Hazel M. Lamb, 98, of Coffeyville, Kansas died January 23, 2008 in Coffeyville. Hazel was born October 15, 1909 to Joseph and Pearl Pruett Lamb in Coffeyville, Kansas, where she lived her entire life. She attended Lowell grade school, Roosevelt Junior High and graduated from Washington High School in 1928, where she was on the National Honor Roll each year. She also attended Coffeyville Junior College. For many years she was a bookkeeper for the Interurban Company and secretary for the First Methodist Church under Reverend Hastie. She also worked for Ben Morgan Real Estate and Sinclair Refinery until it closed. She retired in 1980 from the McFarland Trade School. She was very active in the First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Superintendent for many years and taught a mixed class of young people and later the Aletha Class. She also organized and was secretarytreasurer of the 7th credit union of the church for over 50 years until it was closed in the late 1990s. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mildred Lamb Beach and Gladys Lamb Woehl, all of Coffeyville. Surviving are her brother, Joseph Lamb, Jr. of Claremore, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Gene Woehl of Coffeyville; nieces, Karon Holmes and Janet Reincke of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Cathy Beeson and husband, Bob, of Overland Park, Kansas; nephew, Mike Lamb of Wagoner, Oklahoma and several great-nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, January 26, 2008 in the Fairview Cemetery at Coffeyville. Dr. Wayne Norton will officiate. Services are under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home of Coffeyville. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. These may be left with the funeral home.
