Hazel Nicolas

Coffeyville resident, Hazel P. Nicolas, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 in Coffeyville. She was 89. Hazel was born August 25, 1918 to Robert Morris and Stella Pearl King Butler in Nowata, Oklahoma. She grew up and attended school in Lenepah, Oklahoma. On July 22, 1940, she married Dale Nicolas and they made their home in Wichita, Kansas. Dale preceded her in death on October 15, 1995. Hazel was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved flowers and belonged to the Dearing Christian Church. She is survived by sons, Calvin D. Nicolas and wife, JoAnn,of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Carl L. Nicolas and wife, Jackie, of Ochelata, Oklahoma; daughters, Rita P. Larmour and husband, Charles, of Owasso, Oklahoma; Marcia R. Boston and husband, Robert, of Owasso, Oklahoma; a sister, Beulah Pavey of Collinsville, Oklahoma; brother, Albert Hines of Fairbanks, Alaska; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale; brothers, Chester, Everit and Howard Hines. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel in Coffeyville with Pastor Jamie Regis officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence, Kansas. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Saturday December 29, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home to sign the guest register. Memorials may be made to the Dearing Christian Church and may be left with the funeral home.
