Hazel J. Ohmie, age 89 of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on March 1, 2013 at her home in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside inurnment will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013 with Chaplain Mike Graham officiating at the Restlawn Memorial Park in Coffeyville, Kansas under the direction of the FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Hazel was born November 6, 1923 to Manford A. and Oma Goldman Nading. She attended Labette County High School in Altamont, Kansas graduating in 1941. Hazel worked in the Kansas Ammunition Plant in Parsons, Kansas during World War II, and later at Electra in Independence, Kansas and at Neal Todd Enterprises Upholstery Company RockaChair. She retired in 1987 after working for 15 years for the Salvation Army with the Booth Home for unwed mothers in Wichita, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Kenneth, Lloyd, Bill Nading one sister, Mary Lou Nibarger first husband Alfred R. Carpenter died in 1967 and Robert J. Ohmie, her second husband, died in 2005.
Survivors include one daughter Joan and husband Henry Corte of Austin, Texas two sons Manford Allen Carpenter of Topeka, Duane and wife Deanna Carpenter of Coffeyville 5 grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
