Hazel Thomas 1911 - 2006 Hazel Thomas, age 94, Edna, Kansas resident passed away at the ElmHaven East Nursing Home, Parsons, Kansas on Friday, the 12th day of May, 2006. She was born October 27, 1911 to Gus and Lucy Muller Banzet in Rural Edna, Kansas. Education: She was a Labette County Community High School graduate of 1928. Marriage information: On March 12, 1932 she married Clyde Thomas in Oswego, Kansas. Mr. Thomas preceded her in death May of 1975. They made their home in the Edna community where she was a homemaker. Clyde and Hazel were farmers raising cattle and were also dairy farmers. She was a 60 year charter member of the Labette County Leib Extension unit. She was survived by: Son, Jimmy Thomas, Connie Altamont, Kansas; 5 grandchildren, Kristi Tullis Tony, Salem, In; Tom Murphy Rhonda, Altamont, Ks.; Gena Beck Tim, Pittsburg, Ks.; Gayla Baird Bryan, The Woodlands, Tx. And Jay Thomas Jill, Edna, Ks.; 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandsons. 2 sisters, Elsie Gilfillan, Parsons, Ks.; Margie Miller, So. Norwalk, Ct.; 1 brother, Warren Banzet, Edna, Ks. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, Helen Brown and 2 brothers, Arthur and Wayne Banzet, and one Daughter, Carole Jean Murphy. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at the Elm Grove North Edna Cemetery, Edna, Kansas. Allan Banzet will be presiding. Calling hoursVisitation: Mrs. Thomas will lie in state Monday, May 15, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. 9 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, KS.
