HELEN WELLINGTON Coffeyville resident Helen Louise Wellington entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 26, 2007 in Coffeyville. She was 83. Helen was born on September 19, 1923 in Coffeyville to William H. Allcorn and Edith Chesney. She grew up and attended schools in Coffeyville, graduating from Field Kindley High School. On September 21, 1941 she married Earl Finis Wellington in Coffeyville. After their marriage, they made their home in Coffeyville. Mr. Wellington left for the military. Helen was a homemaker and took care of her dad during his time of illness. When Mr. Wellington was discharged from the military they started a family and moved to Chetopa for a short time and later returned to Coffeyville. She worked at Electra in Independence which later became Automotive Controls Corporation. She retired in 1984. Helen enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and reading her Bible. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Coffeyville and was active in the Christian Womens Fellowship Group. Survivors include a son and his wife, Steve and Nancy Wellington of Wichita, Kansas; a daughter and her husband, Gail and Ted Hall of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; a brother, Harold Allcorn of Coffeyville, Kansas; 3 grandchildren, Stephen Wellington and his wife Shelley of Wichita, Kansas; T.J. Hall and his wife Courtney of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and Danny and his wife Alisha Hall of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; 3 great-grandchildren Jake Wellington, Charles Hall and Ashlyn Hall. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Jack Allcorn, and one grandson, Bobby Wellington. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel in Coffeyville. Inurnment will follow in Penwell-Gabels Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
