Herbert E.Herb Findley, 77, Coffeyville, Kansas, died Thursday morning, December 15, 2011 at St. John Medical Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Herb was born September 24, 1934 at Norwood, Missouri to Jason E. Findley and Ora V. Calhoun Findley. He moved to Coffeyville at the age of eight and attended Whittier Elementary and graduated Field Kindley High School, Class of 1952. Herb served in the Army Reserves and worked for the City of Coffeyville close to 39 years. He was a member of the Citys Water Service Group and also read meters for many years, retiring in 1997. On August 23, 1953, he married Ann Rhinehart. The Findleys made Coffeyville their home and Herb taught the Mens Class at Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church for many years. He also served on the Board of Trustees and as an usher for the church. Herb enjoyed reading and working on the computer, using it to stay in touch with family. He was part of the McDonalds Breakfast Club that met each morning for coffee. Herb is survived by his wife, Ann of the home two sons, Dr. Tony Findley and his wife, Jo of Evansville, Indiana and Carl Findley of Caney, Kansas one daughter, Linda Bynum and her husband, Scott of Cottonwood, Arizona a daughterinlaw, Joy Findley of Coffeyville seven grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents by three brothers, Elmer, Ray and Paul and by a sister, Ruth. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 19, 2011 at Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Martin officiating. Interment will be in Coffeyvilles Fairview Cemetery, under the direction of PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel. Visitation will be Sunday, 16pm with family receiving friends at the funeral home from 13 p.m. Friends are asked to donate to the charity of their choice through the funeral home.
