Home going service for Herschel L. Ricks Former Coffeyville resident Herschel Lee Ricks passed away Sunday, April 29, 2007 in Joplin, MO. He was 66 years old. Herschel was born April 1, 1941 to Herschel Ricks and Mrs. Josephine Webber Ricks in Coffeyville, Ks. Mr. Ricks went to school in Coffeyville to the 8th grade. But later got his G.E.D. and finished his schooling. Mr. Ricks worked here in Coffeyville at the Morrow Foundry for a long time. He also worked at Pressure Cast Products Inc. for several years, later moving to Wichita, Ks. While there he also did some work at the foundries there. In later years Mr. Ricks came back to Coffeyville, and met Barbara Pulley from Iola. They married and later moved to Pittsburg, Ks, until he departed in death. Mr. Ricks, leaves to cherish his memory: his children 2 daughters and 5 sons and some grandchildren also. He leaves 1 brother Mr. Cordell Ricks of Coffeyville Ks, 1 Sister Mrs. Carolyn Rhodes of South Carolina and 1 sister-in-law Mrs. Vera Ricks of Coffeyville Ks, hosts of nieces and nephews, and a host of great nieces and nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his Father, Mother, 5 Brothers and Wife Barbara Ricks, 1 niece and 1 nephew. The family of Mr. Herschel Ricks, wish to express their sincere thanks for all acts of kindness. And thanks to a good friend Mr. Lester Sanders of Coffeyville, Ks. Special thanks to those of you who participated in this home-going. May God bless each one of you richly. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 3, 2007 at the Veterans Patio at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. Reverend Elbert Webber will officiate. Friends may call on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 from 9 AM until 9 PM at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home to sign the guest register.
