Hyon C. Bilby

Hyon C. Bilby of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away at the age of 62 with her family by her side on Monday, July 22, 2024. 

Hyon was born on July 26, 1961, in Naju, Korea. Hyon’s father passed when she was very young leaving her mother Pakim Kim to raise her children alone. Growing up for Hyon was very difficult and she overcame many obstacles in her life.  

In 1983 Hyon met a handsome young airman, Alan Bilby whom she fell in love with and the two began their life as husband and wife on March 4, 1983, they just celebrated 41 years of marriage. The couple lived in various Air Force bases until Alan’s retirement in 1995 where they returned to Coffeyville Alan’s hometown and made it their forever home, where they also raised their two sons. 

Hyon was a homemaker and loved to tend to her vegetable garden, providing fresh produce for her family. She was very caring and loving, she loved them so deeply that she tried to protect her family in every aspect of life. 

Hyon now is resting in her eternal home with Jesus because of her confession of faith, accepting Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She loved serving the Lord and worshipping with her family and brothers and sisters in Christ at Emmanuel Chapel in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma. 

Hyon is survived by her husband Alan of the home, her son Nicholas Bilby, her mother Pakim Kim, one brother and two sisters, grandchildre; Hunter Bilby whom she had a very special relationship with, LaShondra Bilby, Elijah Aldredge and Teylor Clark.  

Funeral services celebrating Hyon’s life will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Emmanuel Chapel, 312 Broadway Ave, South Coffeyville, OK under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel at 1pm. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery immediately following services.
