Ida Bell Ratliff, age 76, Coffeyville, Kansas resident died on December 27, 2008 at St. Josephs Regional Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. She was born February 17, 1932 to George and Pearl Hancock Scott in Vian, Oklahoma. At a young age her family moved from Vian to Coffeyville, where she grew up and graduated high school. On August 18, 1961 she married Douglas Ratliff in Sacramento, California. They made their home in the Sacramento, California area before moving back to Coffeyville in 1973. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2006. She was a home maker. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, bingo, shopping and socializing with her friends. She used to sing in the choir at St. Johns Church. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She traveled her later years from California to Florida and many points in between. Survivors include sons, Delbert Sales of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Don Sales of Coffeyville, Kansas, Larry Sheila Anderson of West Virginia, Sir Douglas Ratliff of Wichita, Kansas; daughters, Jacqueline McMillan of Fort Worth, Texas, Gwendolyn James Earl Wiggins of Henning, Tennessee, Deloris Williams of Kansas City, Missouri, Julie Antonius Brown of Louisville, Kentucky, Debra Burgess of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma; brother, Herman Scott of Coffeyville, Kansas; sisters, Pearlie Mae Cain of Denver, Colorado, Mary Etta Ellis of Independence, Kansas, Lydia Ann Thomas of Coffeyville, Kansas; twenty five grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. A host of special friends, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Also preceding her in death are her parents, sons, George Anderson, Jr., Milton Leo Nolan, Jr.; brothers, Elmer Scott, Haile Scott, James Scott; sister, Edna Mae Sales; and a grandson. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2008 at 11:00a.m.at the St. Johns Baptist Church in Coffeyville, Kansas. Pastor Gary Wilson and Reverend Gary Stephens will officiate and burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 pm at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel to sign the guest register.
