Irene Bolen

Irene Bolen of Coffeyville passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville. She was 90. Irene was born September 30, 1920 in Coffeyville, Kansas to L.H.Dick and Irma Foland Richards. She grew up in the Coffeyville area where she received her education. After college she was united in marriage to Robert M. Bolen. The couple made their home in Topeka, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1978. Irene returned to Coffeyville in 1991. She worked for First National Bank in Coffeyville. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Coffeyville. She enjoyed bowling, card games, knitting, crocheting, and spending time with her friends and family. She is survived by her son, Larry Bolen of Grandview, Missouri sister,Helen Warren of Coffeyville granddaughters, Heather and Stacy five greatgrandchildren numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Dick and Irma and loving husband, Robert. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville. Reverend Gerald Morris will officiate. A private burial will follow at a later date in Topeka, KS. Friends may call on Friday, December 10, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. so sign the guest register. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society. These may be left with the funeral home.
