Irene Doris Robinson, 90, of Coffeyville, passed away Friday, February 22, 2008 at Windsor Place. Irene was born on May 20, 1917 in Muldrow, OK, the daughter of Thomas H. and Ada Mae Bryant Hunigan. She attended grade school in Muldrow and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Tulsa, OK. She was united in marriage to Hugh T. Robinson on May 3, 1941 in Cherryvale, KS at his parents home. He preceded her in death in April 1994. Irene was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family and friends. Her joy was having her grandchildren call herMe-Maw. She was an excellent cook, a talented pianist and loved music. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was involved in the Mission Department and the Senior Choir. Survivors include, daughter, Doris and husband, Charles Anderson of Topeka; daughter, Dorothy Hendrix of Coffeyville, grandchildren, Michael and Lonna Anderson, Lynee Anderson, Keith and Kristen Hendrix, and Kevin Hendrix; four great-grandchildren, and sisters, Mary E. Johnson of Detroit, MI and Hazel Hunigan of Coffeyville. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh; son, Jimmy Hugh Robinson; sister, Alice Landers; and three brothers, Ernest Hunigan, Sylenthus Hunigan, and Curtis Hunigan. Home Going Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 29, 2008 at Calvary Baptist Church, Coffeyville. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday from 9:00 a.m until 9:00 p.m. where family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. that evening. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimers Association, Calvary Baptist Church of Coffeyville, or to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund of Topeka in care of the funeral home.
