Isaac A. Heaven, 91, long time Coffeyville resident, died Thursday morning, January 8, 2009 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. Isaac was born November 22, 1917 at Lethe, Hanover, Jamaica to Cecil Heaven and Rachel Hylton Heaven. He grew up and received his education in Jamaica. Isaac came to the United States during the days of World War II. He met and married Olga J. Davis. The couple were married in Chicago, Illinois and enjoyed more than 60 years together. Shortly after their marriage, the Heavens moved to Coffeyville, Kansas and have resided there most of their married lives. Isaac enrolled in a trade school apprenticeship program and received his certification as a Doctor of Motors. He put his training to good use as he ownedoperated Heavens Auto Shop on East North Street. Isaac was a member of Prince Hall Masonic Lodge and was a former board member of 3-C Credit Union and on the Board of Directors for the Coffeyville Centennial Committee. He loved watching Westerns and attended Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Olga, of the home; three sons, Glen Heaven of Atlanta, Georgia, Isaac Tony Heaven of Coffeyville, Kansas and Ashley Dean Heaven and his wife, Manami, of Lynnwood, Washington; three daughters, Rachel Norwood and her husband, Gerald of Wichita, Kansas; Edith Thomas and her husband, the Reverend Leonard Thomas, Sr., of Peoria, Illinois and JoElaine Heaven of Coffeyville; 16 grandchldren; 36 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Isaac was preceded in death by his parents; by six brothers and by four sisters. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Penwell-Gabels Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel with the Reverends Leonard Thomas, Sr. and W.E. Colbert officiating. Interment will follow in Coffeyvilles Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. Friends may call at the Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon until 8 p.m.
