Jack Richard Graves, 78, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at 2:45pm Tuesday, October 6, 2009 in the home. He was born on June 18, 1931 in Lane, Kansas to Alex T. and Pauline Johnson Graves. He graduated from Field Kindley High School with the class of 1949. Jack married Roberta Fansler on November 17, 1950. She survives at the home. He was employed for 35 years with Sherwin Williams until his retirement in March of 1994. He also worked for Continental Can Company, Moore Lowery Flour Mill, and Ceilings of Tulsa Construction Company. He was a long time member of First Assembly of God in Coffeyville where he served the Lord as an usher, greeter, and teacher. He also served as a Church Deacon for more than 25 years. Hobbies included hunting, fishing, and carpentry. His parents preceded him in death. In addition to his wife, survivors include his children: David Graves and wife Laura of Dodge City, KS, Brenda Pile and husband Ray of Fredonia, KS, Richard Graves and wife Kristi of Joplin, MO, and Mike Peck and wife Marlyce of Coffeyville, KS; one sister Rachel Martin and husband JamesBud. of Coffeyville, KS, 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren also survive him. Visitation will be held Friday from 6:30-8:00pm at Penwell-Gabel. A celebration of Jacks life will be held Saturday, October 10th at 10:30am at First Assembly of God, 1504 W. 8th, Coffeyville, KS. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorials are designated for the First Assembly of God Building Fund.
